What do you do for fun during the spring and summer months? Alumnus David Driver, ’71, spends some of his time planning the Northwest Indiana Regional Alumni Association Golf Outing. Since graduation, Driver knew he wanted to stay connected to his alma mater. With a passion for golf, a desire to connect with his alma mater, and a little encouragement from fellow ISU classmate, Terry Wozniak ’69, Driver joined the golf committee.
Driver enjoys every aspect of planning the event. From arranging lunch and dinner menu items to collecting prizes for participants, chairing the golf outing committee is one way he is involved with ISU.
Since joining and chairing the committee in 2001, Driver has helped plan 12 golf outings that have raised scholarship funds for deserving students in the area to attend Indiana State.
“Ultimately, the gratification of knowing several students lives have been impacted by our efforts is what motivates me to volunteer each year,” Driver said.
Driver as well as Frank Trapane ’72, Drew Thomas ’76, Marty Jamrose ’63, and the many other alumni volunteers on the committee are hosting this year’s Northwest Indiana Regional Alumni Association golf outing on Friday, June 21, 2013, at the Lakes of the Four Seasons Golf Course in Crown Point.
Hilary Duncan, ’10, is the assistant director of the alumni association.
