Indiana State University will officially dedicate the administrative suite in the Student Recreation Center in tribute to Dr. James L. Wittenauer at 11 a.m. on Oct. 13.
“The Fire Within,” created by Jack Fox, ’93, to honor Stephen Kennedy hangs from the ceiling of the main entryway of ISU’s Student Recreation Center.
ISU dedicated the National Road Plaza, which portrays the history of the National Road. A sculpture by alumnus Jack Fox memorializes Stephen Kennedy, an athletic training student who died in 2000. Sycamore Business Advisors continue to help local businesses create plans to grow while the students gain real-world experience.
Indiana State has been re-accredited for a full 10-year period by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Professors have received prestigious fellowships to conduct research overseas.
Indiana State celebrated student advocacy and engagement with the opening of its new Student Recreation Center. The ribbon-cutting and dedication capped a six-year collaborative effort between the University and its students.
A 23-foot high stainless steel sculpture of a “Runner” in mid-stride provides a fitting welcome to Indiana State’s new Student Recreation Center. The work, which was done by Cambridge, Mass., artist Douglas Kornfeld, is located outside the recreation center’s main entrance.
